Finally the rainy season has caught up to us but luckily the weather did not prevent us from having a wonderful semi-outdoor meeting in July at the home of Laurie Hristov who gave us a tour of her extensive and imaginative garden after which we all enjoyed a potluck dinner. It is always amazing how good these dinners are with virtually no duplication of offerings from our members. We all had a good time and thank Laurie for opening her home to us.
We are looking forward to hearing from Craig Morrell at our next meeting because he is an expert on helping grow our beautiful begonias and keeping them healthy and pest free. He will be here directly after the “shady affair” plant sale at Mounts. Freda Holley, hybridizer extraordinaire, will be our speaker at the October meeting.
Ed Whelan has agreed to be the head of our Nominating Committee which will select a roster of candidates for our 2016 board. We will ask for volunteers to join Ed at our September meeting.
We will also be looking for volunteers to help at the Mounts plant sale on November 7 and 8. Please bring a friend to the next meeting which promises to be terrific.
