Most cane begonias are coming into their peak bloom period now. Begonia 'Encanto Broze is one such beautiful plant to note this month. 'Encanto Bronze' grows on sturdy canes up to six fee tall. It is seemingly in flower alalmost all the time with large coral-pink flower clusters. Leaves acquire a bronzed hue if grown in sun, but the plant looks its finest if restricted to just a few hours of sun.
'Encanto Bronze' was developed in 1984. Anyone who participates in Doris Happel's Propagation Party this July can go home with a cutting!
Doris supplied the photos of this month's specimens. Note the difference in leaf and flower color between the 'Encanto Bronze' plant above which gets a strong amount of sun, and the one below, which enjoys a much shadier locale.
